In an article written by Alex Altman on January 19, 2012, he discusses how Gingrich is using his mouth along with polls and his new followers to boast about how he is in a dead heat in the South Carolina primary. He told the people that "If we can win here, I will become the nominee." Newt Gingrich definitely needs to relax if he actually believes this. He is far from becoming the top dog in this election. Going into Saturday's primary he was ahead in the polls but slowly and steadily he is beginning to fall due to his past catching up with him. The other candidates are using his past to try to cool his small surge down. It may be working. As far as we know it went from being somewhat clear to a log jam at the top of this primary. One thing that may boost his campaign is the help of his new supporter and former opponent Rick Perry. Gingrich said that he was honored by having him join his campaign. There is a possibility that the supporters that used to support Rick Perry can be the deciding factor in whether he wins or loses.
